COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UPDATE

The Association's Collective Bargaining Committee has decided to file a request for arbitration with the Public Service Staff Relations Board (PSSRB) to resolve the current impasse at the bargaining table. The Association is in the process of preparing the necessary documentation and it is currently anticipated that the formal request will be filed with the PSSRB during the week of May 21-24, 2002. Members should be aware that the Board may recommend mediation prior to proceeding to a formal arbitration hearing. Your team wishes to thank those members who have taken the time to express their views in writing directly to the Secretary of the Treasury Board and the Comptroller General and the Deputy Comptroller General. Further updates will be provided as the situation unfolds.
