COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UPDATE - PUBLIC SERVICE

On May 24th, 2002, the Association officially filed a request for arbitration with the Public Service Staff Relations Board (PSSRB).
The negotiating team is finalizing the Association's brief for arbitration, and we are currently in the process of identifying a nominee on the arbitration board, as well as who we would find acceptable as chairperson for the committee.
It is hoped that the hearing will be scheduled in late July or early August, and that a decision would be rendered sometime in September.
Once the date for the hearing has been determined, we will post an update on the Web site.
You are encouraged, as always, to show your support for the team by sending letters, faxes, e-mails or even making a call to departmental officials who have a vested interest in making sure FIs are accorded the respect they deserve, commensurate with their professional contributions to the public service of Canada.
