COLLECTIVE BARGAINING UPDATE - NAV CANADA

Officials from Nav Canada contacted the Association on Friday, June 21st, 2002 with a proposal for consideration by the Nav Canada Negotiating Team. The details of the proposal are as follows:
- A lump sum payment for all members equaling 0.2% per month from November 2000 to August 2002. This one-time payment, which would total 4.4%, would not form part of salary, would not be pensionable and would not apply to any overtime performed during the period.
- A three-year deal with economic increases as follows:
- 2.5% from September 1, 2002 to August 31, 2003;
- 2.5% from September 1, 2003 to August 31, 2004;
- 2.5% from September 1, 2004 to August 31, 2005.
The Negotiating Team has reviewed this offer, and the decision was made to continue with the collective bargaining process, as scheduled.
The Negotiating Team will be meeting in the near future to develop and review proposals for the employer, based on input received to-date from the membership.
