UPDATE ON PUBLIC SERVICE COLLECTIVE BARGAINING
February 13, 2006

The next dates for the continuation of negotiations with the Employer are March 13 and 14. While the Association had hoped to get to the table earlier, the election and the subsequent change in government caused some delays. The employer's external salary survey report has not yet been provided to the Association, but we anticipate the Employer will be able to discuss salary increases at the March meeting. Should the negotiations reach an impasse in March, we will move to conciliation as quickly as possible.

The Association will organize some information sessions on collective bargaining in the National Capital Region and in the regions in late March and early April. We will be contacting members once we have established specific dates and locations.

I would be pleased to respond to any questions or comments you have.
