FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
New Electronic Voting System for 2007
OTTAWA - The Association of Canadian Financial Officers is delighted to announce a new and more efficient way for members to vote at our upcoming Annual General Meeting on May 22, 2007.
For the first time, members will be able to vote on a variety of issues, including resolutions, bylaws and elections, using a simple and secure electronic voting process.
After careful consideration, we have chosen to work with Intelivote Systems Inc., a Canadian electronic voting system company.
Gone are the laborious days of manually entering your preferences and returning your voting ballots by mail. Instead, all members will be assigned a secure PIN number to vote over the Internet. With a few clicks of the mouse, you will be able to vote from the comfort of your own home.
Your progress will be saved, meaning you can pick up where you left off if you can't complete the voting forms all at once. This will allow you more time to research issues that may require further reflection.
We will provide you with dedicated telephone support to address any questions you may have and guide you through the system.
All data will be stored in a secure, centralized area. We will be able to recount votes if the outcomes are ever contested.
All of these features will improve the security of your decisions and the accuracy of the results, while keeping your votes completely confidential. We hope this shift to electronic voting will make it easier and more convenient for you to be involved in accurate decision making.
