Departmental Representative Project
OTTAWA - ACFO is proud to announce the completion of its recent Departmental Representative Orientation Session, which took place Saturday November 24th in Ottawa.
Earlier this year the ACFO Board of Directors approved the implementation of a Representative Project to be run in a number of departments. Volunteer FI Representatives from each of the selected departments then participated in an Orientation Session to make them more familiar with their roles and responsibilities. ACFO Reps will attend departmental meetings and act as a communication link for the membership. It is hoped that this network will assist in defending the rights of members, collective bargaining and a wide variety of other issues.
ACFO is pleased to announce the appointment of Representatives in the following departments.
- Jacqueline Pearce (Indian and Northern Affairs)
- Jeff Noseworthy (Health Canada)
- Sylvain Laprade (Statistics Canada)
ACFO has also appointed regional representatives in the following departments and regions.
- Rob Hawkins (Correctional Services Canada - Kingston, ON)
- Roberta Gale (Service Canada - Vancouver, BC)
Additional details and contact information will be provided to members within these departments in the near future.
The introduction of the project will allow ACFO to test its capacity to build a comprehensive network, which will extend across all departments and across the country.
At this time we would like to recruit volunteer FI candidates to represent ACFO within a number of other departments in the National Capital Region. These departments include:
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
Environment Canada
Fisheries and Oceans Canada
Public Works and Government Services
ACFO would also like to recruit volunteer FI candidates to represent ACFO at Transport Canada in the NCR and across all regions of the country.
