PSHRMAC REVISES CHANGE TO FI CLASSIFICATION STANDARD

On August 17, 2004, the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada (PSHRMAC) announced changes to Nature of Impact Factor of the FI classification standard retroactive to April 1, 2004. One of the changes was to direct that the determination of the size and nature of resources influenced must exclude funds allocated to salaries and wages.

The ACFO opposed this change and immediately contacted the Public Service Human Resources Management Agency of Canada and demanded that the change be reversed.

On September 9, 2004, the Vice President of Human Resources Management Modernization, acknowledged the opposition of the ACFO and reversed the decision to exclude salaries and wages.

The position of the ACFO is that any changes to the Classification Standard should be comprehensive and conducted in full consultation with ACFO.
